jot it down and remember

April 26, 2010

no one gives you a rule book for life.
they simply drown you with images of
wishes and dreams and above all, casualties.
no one tells you about the in between,
the whispers intermingling cries for
not help
but,
something..
anything..
more than this nothing many of us grow so accustomed to becoming

all these fucking ‘ings’ have me thinking,
if i should write one..
give my future children an accessory to their insanely driven mindsets because
Lord knows
they’ll censor most of my words as they grow older..
and if i were to write this untitled handbook,
i think i’d start with a black pen, an inscripted love letter
and my soul.

jot down rule #22 as follows :

no one tells you its ok to admit you’re still hurting,
when everyone else has moved on and
expects you to as well – there is not a time line for a repaired heart

“no one tells you its ok to admit you’re still hurting,
when everyone else has moved on and
expects you to as well – there is not a time line for a repaired heart”

truer words have seldom been spoken. having lost an infant child, this rings incredibly true.

rule #22: both poetic and therapeutic.
